“To thine own self be true,” is the original quotation. This statement is so simple and pure in it’s essence that our hearts automatically resonate with it. It’s a wake up call to put yourself first and become who you truly are intended to be. Accomplish goals and actualize your dreams. As women we have been conditioned to put others first in our lives such as husbands and children. There is such great love that a mother feels for her children and that’s true to her nature. In that respect it is being true to your self.
My story in becoming true to myself:
I found in my own marriage a cultural conditioning in the beginning to let him be the patriarchal figure. As I matured and became confident in myself I resisted the control that I felt he had in his role as my husband. I figured out early on that I needed to become educated and be self-sufficient. I went to nursing school and continued my education as I worked as a licensed practical nurse to support my family. Six months into our marriage my husband was fired from his job and went back to school to earn his PhD. I worked extremely hard during the first seven years of our marriage until I had my completed prerequisite course work for a one year LPN to RN bridge program at a Community College.
By the time my daughter went to High School I had bought a home and divorced my husband. I was ready for the divorce as it was an abusive marriage but I was not ready for the rejection from my daughter.
I believe that everything happens for the best and that with Grace our relationship will be healed some day. Unconditional love is a motherly truth that cannot change for me no matter how she has been influenced by others who have said negative things about me.
Transcendence:
Life is short and time is the most precious commodity we have and I intend to use it to make the most out of my life. There is a psychological need to recognize that there is a loss of my most precious relationship and take my positive energy to motivate me to create more in my life. I am open to travel and to seeing what new doors open for me and where that may be. I am not restricted by others expectations about what I should be doing or having to be tied down to one location.
My work as a Professional Life Coach is done on computer through social networking sites and writing. My laptop is my constant companion and I am always learning how to use new apps like “dongle” that is a prepaid Internet plan that I can use anywhere around the world. Presently I am visiting my brother outside London then plan on visiting my Spiritual Master in Chicago. I am enjoying the freedom! Later on this year I will settle down in one location.
I have been on a Spiritual Path since 1986 and find there to a synchronicity about events that become guideposts to my intuitive nature. After the elections were over I red a quote from my Spiritual Master on Twitter that advised people to share a piece of their soul rather than a piece of their mind. The truth always resonates within and I got the message! I still like to keep informed about political issues but my focus in on God and not the world in that sense.
When I write to support, inspire and motivate others I feel more aligned with my purpose when I am focused on the positive and uplifting lives.
Follow your dream:
I now have a social network of nurses and business acquaintances and a plan to develop ways of providing job service for which I can charge a fee. My nature is to be supportive and caring. I have reached out to nurses who are undergoing state board discipline or who have been fired. Nurses in this position can find alternative careers to earn income through someone like me who can understand their plight. Often because of the sudden nature of these kinds of incidents there isn’t enough time or energy to process every level of life that needs to be attended to at once. Legal and financial responsibilities are examples. Through start a nursing support group and network of business people I can now help nurses earn an income. One nurse who was fired from a hospital has started her own business with a prepaid legal plan. She can educate nurses to become proactive and if in the event that they have to defend a nursing license or appeal a job firing they are able to pay for the legal fees and if they want to become an agent also can earn extra income while working in nursing.
Follow your dream:
Deepak Chopra says that we when we follow our dream the money will follow. I read this many years ago and I am finding it to be true. Be true to yourself!
