Change comes out of unfortunate circumstances.

The following information is shared from the latest newsletter from A Dignified Revolution.  Go to http://dignifiedrevolution.org.uk/ and sign up for this excellent source of health care reporting.

And, a report has been published into the high infection rates at Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board (BCUHB). This report found:
·         serious failures of management and leadership at senior medical and nursing level. It was reported that an assistant director of nursing took responsibility for a speciality in which she was not experienced demonstrating a serious breach of the Nursing and Midwifery Council code of practice
·         that vacant infection control nurse posts were deleted to make financial savings
·         that Public Health Wales, who have responsibility for investigating specific outbreaks of infection collected and analysed data which showed that BCUHB had the highest rates amongst comparable boards for Clostridium Difficile but did not consider that it was their job to take the issue up with BCUHB
·         delays and omissions in reporting CDI-associated deaths to the Welsh Government.
A member of public who read the report wrote to us to say that “it is criminal and if you want evidence that a mid-Staffs couldn't happen in Wales it’s all there in my opinion. Public Health Wales was aware of the increase across 2012 in C. Diff and MRSA in YGC but did nothing as they were under no duty to do so. Where were their ethics?
Ann Clwyd MP believes that the NHS in Wales in a worse state than England. She has obtained statistics through the library at the House of Commons which revealed Wales is behind its neighbours in a number of areas.

I am very pleased to read that politicians are deeply moved by the conditions faced by patients, families and those who work in the health care system and are grilling those like the Quality Care Commission whom they look for to protect their safety.  Listen to this interview and you will see that efforts are being made to create an environment which encourages people to report poor practices in the workplace and the appointment of a new Chief Inspector at the QCC http://www.cqc.org.uk/public/news/professor-steve-field-chief-inspector-general-practice
Dr. Field says that he is a champion for patients rights and this was one of the eight ambitions of Sir Bruce Keogh's report.

Sir Bruce Keogh's report included 'Eight Ambitions for the NHS,' in light of 14 of the worst performing trusts.
Numbers 1 and 2 address measurement of analysis, particularly mortality, and subsequent communications of such imperative data between trusts.  Number 3 addresses key stakeholder involvement (public) and that there should be real-time feedback.  Number 4 calls on the CQC to increase public confidence in their service.  Numbers 5 and 6 are related to improving standards of care delivery in remote hospitals and to provide adequate and appropriate staffing levels.

Number 3 should be of note as statistics on infection control are apparently published annually as highlighted in Ms. Dennis's newsletter.  Number 5 is of note: ...  ·         serious failures of management and leadership at senior medical and nursing level. It was reported that an assistant director of nursing took responsibility for a speciality in which she was not experienced demonstrating a serious breach of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

MP's on the Commons health Committee said 'hospitals should provide real-time information that would alert to staff to patient ratios.'  The government currently gets statistics from the NHS twice per year on staffing and is to set minimal staffing levels.
It is encouraging to learn that Lord Howe is aware of the plight of nurses who speak up about poor staffing levels.  He was quoted as saying 'Many who raise their concerns in the NHS at present risk serious consequences for their employment and professional status'....Further, 'Disciplinary procedures, professional conduct hearings, and employment tribunals are not the proper place for honestly held concerns about patient safety and quality care - aired constructively.'

For nurses who have not been able to work due to investigations/disciplinary actions here's some information for money making as that has to be a priority.
At Pinch Me A Living their motto is be who you are and do what you love.  They offer a free personality test as well as a free coaching series.

Jim Rohn was a great coach and has left a legacy to encourage us all to get ahead.  I recommend that you write your goals down and listen to this video by JR who can inspire you.  He said 'When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.'

The Law of Attraction is important to understand as the thoughts you have will be reflected back to you and manifest in your life.  That is why it is better to have positive thoughts and thing big when you create your dream life.  Oprah recognizes this and she encourages others to follow her thinking with setting your biggest, best goals.

For those who are Christian, Tiffany Torquaz has a wonderful book about the law of attraction and information on her web site.  Tiffany Torkarz can help you think, feel and believe in your ambitions.

Consider this interruption in your life as an opportunity to make changes and adapt so that you can attract more abundance into your life.  Journal daily and correct negative thoughts that arise.  Don't be judgemental when you have negative thoughts but weed them out.  Jim Rohn has written about the importance of this discipline.

My very best wishes go with you to spend time in meditation, prayer and goal setting.  You can do it and remember that you are not alone.  Go to the MeetUp tab and get together.

Positive thoughts and prayers are sent to you from my heart... Rita.
