Positive actions by powerful role models

Helene Donnelly spoke out about her experiences as she went to managers about her concerns and even took a job elsewhere due to conditions at work.  She says that the majority of nurses were conscientious.  This begs the question about how the lowest denominator has the power to degrade a system?
