Princess Alexander Hospital NHS Trust has transformed its A&E after listening to staff and has met the NHS goal of seeing 95% of its patients in less than four hours. Services are being transformed from smaller A&E departments to consolidate with others as close to the areas that have closed. Staffing on the weekends and out of hours has not been sufficient to assess patient needs as there are less consultants to diagnose and treat life threatening medical emergencies such as strokes. This is in part due to a clause in a contract that allows them to opt out of week-end coverage which the government is seeking to reverse.
Amyas Morse, head of the National Audit Office recommends that A&E's employ more doctors, including gerenticians to reduce the number of elderly short stay admissions. The report by the NAO also recommends that more services be available all the time. The walk-in clinics are efficient and with the current emphasis on listening to staff and focusing on the paient's needs they can bridge the gap between services. I have used this service myself and have seen the hands on approach by the manager to make sure that there is a seamless delivery of service. For me this option is preferable to a smaller doctor's surgery where you have to wait for appointments etc rather than being able to show up when you need to see a nurse or a doctor and get blood drawn and some tests like EKG's done. I hope other health systems use this model so that patients can get the treatment they need when they need it.
Dr. Maxwell Mortz gives clear and valuable guidance in this video.
There is stigma from being investigated by the State Board of Nursing and that shadow of a doubt will always be there and has to be addressed on each employment application no matter if it is a nursing position or otherwise. Paul Harasim is an investigative journalist and did a great deal of probing into the events that led up to two nurses being charged with murder at Sunrise Hospital where one of the nurses, Sharon Ochoe Reyes says she will resume her position after they were both cleared by Judge Gloria Navano. The ruling called for the hospital to reinstate and give the nurses back pay as well as pay for attorney fees. The charges stemmed from broken umbillical tubes that were used to draw blood which had been defective for months and the nurses had been complaining to management about it. Sunrise Hospital never had the equipment tested by the expert witness they had hired.
In October The Rayal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children apologized and accepted responsibility for the fluid deaths of three children. Parents of one of the children had happened to watched a program about the issue and sought answers into the death of their daughter who died in 1996. It took a long time to uncover the fact that hospital guidelines were available but not followed at the time. I could not find any individual doctors or nurses mentioned. A very sad and unnecessary loss that thankfully has been acknowledged.
Having faith in your Higher Power is a good thing to help you to get through those stages in life when you are transitioning and perhaps at the same time dealing with the legal issues due to a license investigation or suspensiion. It has to be experienced to fully understand the stress involved and how this turns your life upside down. But face it you must and even if you have fears just think of the worst scenario and perhaps that's not going to be as horrific as just thinking or imagining about it. Both take equal energy. Project positive thoughts and images about the outcome and pray and meditate and let it go. Dr. Maxwell Mortz explains in the seventies video about how the self-image that we have either boosts or errodes our confidence with meeting life's challenges. It's really worth learning these truths about our inner self and work on changing any negative self-image that we have that may make us even more susceptable to depression etc. if you feel unworthy because of your past conditioning.
'Money's too tight to mention,' is a soul classic that can be in a nut shell where nurses find themselves. Margaret M. Lnych is the best teacher to follow for wealth manifesting Forbes Magazine has an article about the work Margaret does using the law of attraction. It always is a positive thing to have the main stream thinkers and doers in the business world enjoying the benefits.
Mindfullness has been studied to show that patients feel more satisfied with their care when staff - doctors in this study listen attentively and don't get distracted by multitasking.
Dr. Deepak Chopra is a spiritual teacher and author whose video demonstrates how to use meditation to develop a clear state of mindfulness. The work is really very positive and takes a committment and effort on your part to learn and practice. Once you experience the positive benefits you will want to learn more...
My very best wishes are with you as you seek to learn more about yourself and live an ethical and spiritual life. Many people go to church and can follow all of the prayers and rituals but it's the inner connection that you have with yourself and God that is truely transforming and now is a good time to delve deeper.
Warm Wishes, Rita.
