Practice mindfullness and learn the skills from experts to work in health care

Princess Alexander Hospital NHS Trust has transformed its A&E after listening to staff and has met the NHS goal of seeing 95% of its patients in less than four hours.  Services are being transformed from smaller A&E departments to consolidate with others as close to the areas that have closed.  Staffing on the weekends and out of hours has not been sufficient to assess patient needs as there are less consultants to diagnose and treat life threatening medical emergencies such as strokes.  This is in part due to a clause in a contract that allows them to opt out of week-end coverage which the government is seeking to reverse.
Amyas Morse, head of the National Audit Office recommends that A&E's employ more doctors, including gerenticians to reduce the number of elderly short stay admissions.  The report by the NAO also recommends that more services be available all the time.  The walk-in clinics are efficient and with the current emphasis on listening to staff and focusing on the paient's needs they can bridge the gap between services.  I have used this service myself and have seen the hands on approach by the manager to make sure that there is a seamless delivery of service.  For me this option is preferable to a smaller doctor's surgery where you have to wait for appointments etc rather than being able to show up when you need to see a nurse or a doctor and get blood drawn and some tests like EKG's done.  I hope other health systems use this model so that patients can get the treatment they need when they need it.

Dr. Maxwell Mortz gives clear and valuable guidance in this video.
There is stigma from being investigated by the State Board of Nursing and that shadow of a doubt will always be there and has to be addressed on each employment application no matter if it is a nursing position or otherwise.  Paul Harasim is an investigative journalist and did a great deal of probing into the events that led up to two nurses being charged with murder at Sunrise Hospital where one of the nurses, Sharon Ochoe Reyes says she will resume her position after they were both cleared by Judge Gloria Navano.  The ruling called for the hospital to reinstate and give the nurses back pay as well as pay for attorney fees.  The charges stemmed from broken umbillical tubes that were used to draw blood which had been defective for months and the nurses had been complaining to management about it.  Sunrise Hospital never had the equipment tested by the expert witness they had hired.
In October The Rayal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children apologized and accepted responsibility for the fluid deaths of three children.  Parents of one of the children had happened to watched a program about the issue and sought answers into the death of their daughter who died in 1996.  It took a long time to uncover the fact that hospital guidelines were available but not followed at the time.  I could not find any individual doctors or nurses mentioned.  A very sad and unnecessary loss that thankfully has been acknowledged.

Having faith in your Higher Power is a good thing to help you to get through those stages in life when you are transitioning and perhaps at the same time dealing with the legal issues due to a license investigation or suspensiion.  It has to be experienced to fully understand the stress involved and how this turns your life upside down.  But face it you must and even if you have fears just think of the worst scenario and perhaps that's not going to be as horrific as just thinking or imagining about it.  Both take equal energy.  Project positive thoughts and images about the outcome and pray and meditate and let it go.  Dr. Maxwell Mortz explains in the seventies video about how the self-image that we have either boosts or errodes our confidence with meeting life's challenges.  It's really worth learning these truths about our inner self and work on changing any negative self-image that we have that may make us even more susceptable to depression etc. if you feel unworthy because of your past conditioning.
'Money's too tight to mention,' is a soul classic that can be in a nut shell where nurses find themselves.  Margaret M. Lnych is the best teacher to follow for wealth manifesting Forbes Magazine has an article about the work Margaret does using the law of attraction.  It always is a positive thing to have the main stream thinkers and doers in the business world enjoying the benefits.
Mindfullness has been studied to show that patients feel more satisfied with their care when staff - doctors in this study listen attentively and don't get distracted by multitasking.

Dr. Deepak Chopra is a spiritual teacher and author whose video demonstrates how to use meditation to develop a clear state of mindfulness.  The work is really very positive and takes a committment and effort on your part to learn and practice.  Once you experience the positive benefits you will want to learn more...
My very best wishes are with you as you seek to learn more about yourself and live an ethical and spiritual life.  Many people go to church and can follow all of the prayers and rituals but it's the inner connection that you have with yourself and God that is truely transforming and now is a good time to delve deeper.
Warm Wishes, Rita.

Two great women to follow and use as role models.

http://www.oprah.com/spirit/Maria-Shriver-Guest-Edits-O-Magazines-First-Poetry-Issue  I mentioned that I would be looking for Maria Shriver's interviews and connections with people who can be a tremendous boost and excellent role model as this group finds its footing and you are able to put your lives back together again.  In life it's important to keep in good company and Maria Shriver comes from a whole lineage of people who cared about others and worked hard to make the world a better place.  Maria follows in the footsteps of her mother who was gracious, kind and warm.  Those are the people we want to learn to emulate.

Also Maya Angelou who writes wonderful poems full of the stuff of life that everyone has experienced along the way.  This quote is particulary apropos for the degredation and shame that nurses experience when they encounter problems with their licenses 'People will try to peck you to death like a duck but you're not in it.  My advice whenever others disgrace your name.'  http://myown.oprah.com/search/index.html?own_only=1&q=Mary%20Angelou  Mary's program on Sunday November 17 at 12pm may be available for viewing.  She is a very powerful and moving lady who can help those who need a way of expressing and relating their circumstances and feelings as she writes the most inspiring poetry.
The website I have put together for 'Nurses Transition Network' is called 'Organic products and services' and it is on weebly.com   It is a website where you can place your own products and services that you wish to sell to a global market through your own small business at no cost.  I will also invite larger companies to join so that you can easily access information if you are researching for a company to market with.  One that comes to mind right away is Natures Path which is organic and they have been actively engaged in keeping food healthy for us through opposition to GMO's.
As nurses we can promote those goods and products that are healthy for people and will help heal and sustain the environment.  Some of you will be creative and be able to do an array of things like fashion design etc and you will have the support and respect of a community of like minded people who are interested in your welfare and good reputation building.
Warm wishes and my very best intentions to create a platform where you can recover your dignity and build a stream of income to support yourself and those you love and are responsible to provide for.
Rita.

Health & Wellness coaching is an ideal role for nurses

Nurses backgrounds provide a positive platform to build a career as a health and wellness coach.  http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Health-and-Wellness-Consultant  Because I promote natural foods and organic fruits and vegetables I recommend that you also look into this lifestyle that is being adopted by more and more people for ethical and health reasons.  I mention network marketing frequently because it's possible for you to use this model to establish a business from home through the contacts you already have and ones you will meet.  All of the people you want to reach out to with a product that you believe in for yourself, because you use the product and have experienced its beneficial effects first hand, are call prospects.  They are people like you who want to start their own business duplicating what you're already doing it and can teach them how.
http://www.asea.net/  Tonight I looked at this website because a nurse who is a contact on LinkedIn markets these products and was enthusiastic about nurses joining the business or just using the product.  I am health conscious and some people only learn to be when they have encountered a health crisis or maybe like some of you want to broaden your knowledge base about natural health products that can support you, and according to so many testimonies actually benefit health.  It's possible to start with a small amount of capital and build your client base.  Contact the company and explore the options.  As this company was only formed in 2002 there is room to grow and expand as it spreads across the global market.  The Internet makes global network marketing possible for us all and you can build a customer base in many countries.  Asea is based in the US and has recently expanded into Europe.
http://www.youngandraw.com/write-for-us/   Young and Raw is a vegetarian blog that provides information about the benefits of healthy eating and encoura ges those interested in the healthful benefits of fruits and vegetables to write for them.  While this may not start out as a paid opportunity it can become a good marketing tool for you to share with others about your particular products that fit with their market model.  The more you get known, the more people will turn to you for product information and may wish to join your company if they see that you are involved with writing and networking on the web.  Essentially you become a role model for others who may wish to join you in your network marketing company.
http://w3.newsmax.com/newsletters/uwr/video_money_codea.cfm?promo_code=141BA-1  Sean Hyman is an investment expert who is often asked to talk about wealth on the television.  Investing may seem like a remote goal when you are in a position where you don't have an income but you can apply the model he uses for deciding whether to put money into a particular company in the same way that you can use it for deciding about putting your money into a business start-up.  When you have a little money saved see if you can invest it in some way.  This is Biblical and sound to prosper and not let money sit idle and loose it's value through inflation.  It's an interesting video and I hope it adds to your feeling of empowerment about building wealth and being worthy to have wealth in your life for the services you are going to offer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHuNaWrEs70  Tony Samara talks about how worry zaps our energy and learning to recognize when you slip into the worry mode and feel the energy drain is a step that happens because you are becoming more conscious.  It a process that happens and there so many areas that you will notice you either react differently or see things differently because you are connecting your soul with your Higher Power through meditation.  Meditate for at least an hour a day and two and a half hours if possible.  Joyti Meditation is meditation on the inner sound and light and instructions and other resources for your spiritual learning can be found on this site http://www.jyotimeditation.org/
Plan your day with lots of positive activities like researching areas that you would like to work in or what kind of business that you would like to develop.  When you wake up center on your Higher Power and if it helps keep a picture by your bed.  Positive energy will help you stay focused and motivate you to organize your day and set your goals into motion.
http://www.oprah.com/spirit/Mark-Nepo-Poems--Reduced-to-Joy-Book/4  Oprah has been walking the walk and talking the talk like life was a line dance.  It comes so naturally to her that she draws to her the exact inspirational resources that give her inner power a boost and because she is an overflowing cup of grace and enthusiasm she naturally can't resist sharing the gems with others.  That's another sign of a spiritually alive person.  Lifting up the lives of others is part and parcel of one's own spiritual development.  I will also be adding the inspirations of Maria Shriever whose mother Eunice was just like this gifted spirit who is like the saying says 'the apple doesn't fall far from the apple tree.'  These ladies have a lot to offer us as we come together in community to heal, re-establish our goals in life and move forward with support.
My very best wishes are with you as you move forward with your life.  Many nurses are moving ahead with you and taking this time as an opportunity for personal growth and spiritual development.  That is my wish for you so that you will achieve your dreams and create a new life doing the things that you love to earn money.
Rita.

Closure with your career under stressful circumstances is challenging...

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/in-flux/201104/5-ways-find-closure-the-past  One study by the University of Manchester writes about the emotional and psychological trauma a nurse experiences when an investigation is launched.  Nurses shared how they were escorted out of their workplace by security and were emotionally distraught and didn't have immediate support available.  No time to adjust to loss of job and livelihood or say goodbye to colleagues and patients.  It's over and you may be prevented to contact those you ordinarily may have kept in touch with outside of the workplace.  The playing field has suddenly changed and you may not be aware of what the charges are or from where or whom they arose immediately.  Closure is important and if it can't be done in context of the situation there has to be time and a format or framework for you to follow to work through feelings.  An exercise like this can be helpful or you can find others on line, but the important thing is to help the healing process and this takes time.  I always like Emmy Lou Harris and 'Goodbye' sung with Steve Earle makes real how sad the experience is without proper closure normally dealt with in relationships but is equally as devastating due to loss of professional role.
Nurses working night shifts undergo physical and mental stress due to lack of sleep and the effects can be felt and measured on the body.  http://nursing.advanceweb.com/Features/Articles/Night-Shift-Nursing-Self-Care-is-Key.aspx  It is easy to imagine how tired a person feels during the early hours of the morning when the bodies normal sleep rhythm wants to kick in.  This article is informative and gives some tips on how to handle lack of sleep.  Meditation is one of the most beneficial practices that a person can do to slow the body down and calm the mind.  It is said that every hour of meditation is equivalent to one thousand hours of sleep.  At least it brings about a feeling of rest and peace.  Attention to diet is important and eating smaller quantities of food at regular intervals is better than eating your largest meal of the day before working a night shift because your body will almost certainly want to sleep.
When it comes to money...MONEY matters and it has to be the first priority in your life once you are unable to earn your income through nursing.  Starting a new business is possible without a large amount of initial capital if you look into the network marketing companies.  Find something that is a passion for you - it could be a hobby or something that you are doing already and could turn into a business such as decorating.
In Florida and probably in other tropical regions of the US orchid jewelry has become fashionable and cost $30.00 for a necklace.  These pictures show some of the kinds of jewelry that you can make and there are craft shows in most cities where you can sell your products.  Once you get proficient at making orchid jewelry the return on investment is great and if you can find an outlet to distribute for you that will bring in a good amount of money.  https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=making+orchids+into+jewelry&espv=210&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=TkuFUvXbKoW  This link shows you how to make orchid jewelry http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_make_orchid_jewelry#slide2 This might not be what you envisioned you would be doing but now that you need to get down to business and earn money all possible avenues should be explored.  When you find something like this that is popular at the moment it important to capitalize on the trend.  Learn about marketing and finding stores to sell your jewelry as well as using social media and eBay.
My very best wishes are with you as you find the business that is right for you and start to earn money and just enjoy life.  Money is important and while this kind of business might not fill the spot as far as the value you put on your life as a nurse and the service that you gave to others, it is a money maker.  There are many ways to being philanthropic and you may find that you could do more good for more people once you are earning more money than you would have done as a nurse.

Small Business Start-ups 'kitchen table style' is applicable for nurses.

http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2013/02/26/913217/dole-advises-nurses-seek-alternative-jobs  The Philippines has been a hub for nurses who after graduation then enter the job markets in the UK, USA and elsewhere.  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-108240/Filipino-nurses-join-NHS-exodus.html  While waiting in the Philippines they may not be able to find employment and the Department of Labor has advised nurses to seek other employment opportunities.
http://www.oprah.com/health/Signs-You-Are-Burnt-Out-Burnout-Signs-Sings-You-Are-Overworked  It is not surprising in today's workplace for nurses to find that they suffer from burnout.  Sometimes nurses neglect to care for themselves and it is important to be reminded to take care of your own well being.  Oprah has a list of burn out symptoms to pay attention to.
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201012/cmselect/cmhealth/1428/1428we09.htm  Julie Fagan has served nurses who have charges made against them and has been listened to by parliament where documentation about this issue has been made and attention given to the plight of nurses.

http://blog.goodsense.io/2013/08/25/the-secret-of-turning-your-idea-into-a-startup/
Money is important!  I recommend that nurses read and absorb the ideas of others who have been successful with business start-ups.  Some assume that there has to be a large outlay of capital and perhaps an office or shop front.  That is why I use the term 'Small Business Start-ups - kitchen table style.'  As long as you have a creative idea and can put a plan written down on paper you can start where you are.  Even if you have to sign on to a computer at the library do that but don't think you can't!  In fact take that word out of your mind and stop communicating it to others.  You can do it and with a clear intention and determination you will succeed.  Avoid those who tell you that you won't be successful and surround yourself with like minded and motivated people.  Call them 'dream busters, kite downers,' or whatever you like, but don't let them influence your ambitions and dreams.
I was advised that we could not meet at the Amway Center in London and will be announcing other venues so that you can network and experience the atmosphere created by network marketing companies.  I recommend models such as Tupperware and Mary Kay because they are expanding in the London area and have mentors and resources to support your business to market and sell the products.  Once you learn network marketing you can use it any business.  I read a book some time ago about 'grape vine' marketing and companies in the US actually employ people to go out in public and speak positively about their services or products.  Such is the importance of word of mouth.  http://www.amazon.com/What-Customers-Value-Most-Transformation/dp/0471641235 is well worth the read to learn about marketing and selling based on research.  Here is some of the content that will help you to deliver excellent customer service and get the word of mouth rewards that you work for.  'Positive word of mouth - a dissatisfied customer will tell eight to 10 other people about his or her bad experiences that very same day.  Over the next week possibly 75 more.  If you lose that customer, it costs you 5 to 12 times more to get a new customer than to keep your existing one.'  Your job is to use the products then recommend them to your friends, family and others you meet and help them get the total experience of linking with your products because they you have gained their trust by honestly recommending what works best for you.
Reading books on self-development is important so that your knowledge about yourself increases and you constantly strive to weed out the parts of your personality or habits that are not serving you well and reinforcing positive habits and communication with others.   Ethical living and accountability are the underpinnings of being true to yourself and spiritual living.  Enjoy those parts of your life that will be important to you forever like your family.

“There's only one day at a time here, then it's tonight and then tomorrow will be today again.' ¬Bob Dylan  The benefit of earning money is that you can then spend more time with family and choices for your own life style.  Today is the best time to start and to learn to become proactive in today's work environment.  Become conscious of the reality that nurses today may not experience job security and for those who are faced with allegations that result in an investigation I hope that you will turn your situation around quickly.  I believe that network marketing is an opportunity for nurses to earn money and gain financial stability and freedom.

Please join me at a new location to be announced later this week.  My prayers and well wishes are with you as you make the changes that will change your life for the better and in this season of Diwali I wish you prosperity and abundance.
Warm Regards, Rita.

When one nurse is successful in the courtroom or in business, others can follow.

Taxpayers_to_pay__outrageous____6m_for_disputed_healthcare_review_this_year/  Some call this kind of thing 'adding insult to injury' or 'rubbing salt in a wound.'  Anyone who pays taxes and finds out that 6 million pounds of it was spent on a review which concluded that St. Helier's Hospital should be closed and has already been  listed as one of  hospitals identified as not financially viable by a study called the 'Sustainable and Financially Effective' (SAFE) report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-16880196
I don't want to be a smart Alec but will have to add this to highlight the ongoing saga for nurses who are in the midst of hospital closures.  Voltair said 'If common sense were very common, more people would have more of it.'
Tom Brake the MP for Carshaltonown spoke out about the plans to close St. Helier's Hospital which had recently been recognized for excellence in some areas of service such as the Emergency Room: "Millions have been spent on a review which hardly anyone supports locally.  It recommends the closure of the A&E at St Helier which has just received the best rating anywhere in England Wales and Northern Ireland for treating emergency patients with hip fractures and St Helier’s nationally renowned neo-natal unit.
The aim of the SAFE report is to achieve a 1.2 Billion pound efficiency savings by 2015.  421 million of which will be saved from cuts to nursing.  I have always heard hospital administrators say that the nursing budget was always high, but they do work 24/7.
The QE2 or Queen Elizabeth II hospital in Birmingham http://www.uhb.nhs.uk/about-the-trust.htm I am told is the second largest hospital in Europe.  I wonder what the patient satisfaction experiences are in comparison to smaller hospitals.  There is a tag on their web page to tell you how to find it.  It's so huge it would be hard not to see it from anywhere within a few mile radius I think!
Having the right legal representation is key for nurses who have to defend their licenses and barrister Michael Egan was able to win a positive outcome for his client Ms. Okeke who was charged with incompetence http://www.hsj.co.uk/news/high-court-rules-incompetent-nurses-cannot-be-struck-off/5063902.article#.UnVTKXA3uPZ  Human rights issues will help to protect nurses who can perhaps be required to go through some further education and training with a period of supervision versus revoking a license.  This case marks a turning point for nurses who are learning to stand up for themselves.
Where there is clear criminal action the police and courts automatically become involved as is the case with Victor Chua and under those conditions of inquiry the person is considered innocent until proven guilty which is democratic.
When it comes to money...money is important!  Nurses need to quickly get on their feet financially as the job market is competitive.  I recommend that you join companies that have their own marketing network to help you to learn how to sell and market the service or product that will help you to earn money fast.  Mary Kay is one such organization with offices in the US and UK for cosmetics.  Mary Kay started her business because she knew that cosmetic and liquor sales are always winners during hard economic times because people use these types of band-aids to help them feel better.  Network marketing is fairly new in the UK but more widely practiced in the US I think because of the expanse in territory has allowed for that kind of service presentation and delivery system because for some it would require a long journey to a retailer to buy products.  In the UK the people can be said to be more reserved and not used to discussing the kind of personal items they use with other people along with other barriers such as dismissing these businesses as making the people at the top of the organization rich at the expense of the new business start ups.  I believe the American work ethic has been instilled into people who join network marketing companies and once they find that they can earn money at this kind of thing then they recommend it to others.  My hope is that nurses will see that this kind of business model is a cash cow that will improve their circumstances.
Always consider the tax benefits of owning a small business and join sites such as Under 30 CEO to find tax savings tips.   For instance as a small business owner with Amway it is possible to travel overseas as a business expense if you have contacts living around the globe.  The possibilities are tremendous for growth with companies like Amway that experience continued financial growth in today's economy.
My very best wishes are with you as you go forward with your lives and seek new avenues for financial freedom.  Make the ceiling your new floor and don't let anything or anybody stop you.
Nurses Transition Network meeting at Starbucks in Windsor http://www.iberkshire.co.uk/profile/562705/Windsor/Starbucks-Coffee/ on Monday 4th at 10 am to 1130.  Nurses bring your networking cards and support each other during the time that you are unable to work under your nursing license or perhaps want to consider taking a break from your nursing career.
Warm Wishes, Rita.

One too many mornings and a thousand miles behind!

The law of attraction works and when you pay attention to feeding your subconscious mind with positive messages your life will change.  Oprah is the best expert that I can think of for applying this knowledge in her life.  We can control our destiny once we tap into the POWER that is within us.
Stephen R. Covey wrote a book called The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People that will help you to bring that framework that works for so many successful people into your business or professional life.  Reading takes time but the rewards are tremendous because those who have gone before you and have learned how to do what it is that you wish to achieve can show you how.
I am a Johnny Cash fan and he always tickled me when he sang in a taunting but humerus way with his wife, June Carter, 'I'm going to Jackson to teach them what they don't know how!'  Funny line and he was such a man I'd fly to Jackson just to see if he meant what he said!
Most of all time is our biggest gift that we waste, much like we do with water when we turn on the faucet and leave it running without being prepared to use it for a specific purpose and have it timed with the activity that we want to achieve.  We have an automatic assumption that it keeps on running and since childhood have run the tap water away unnecessarily just like we have with another commodity - our time.  It's time to change all that and start by making a commitment to reading a book a month for your personal development.  I will list some of the other books that were recommended by the leadership at an Amway conference I attended this weekend.
Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash sang a song about getting behind and how that left them feeling 'One too many mornings and a thousand miles behind.'  It doesn't have to be that way if you plan your time and do the things that are necessary to stay motivated to get ahead.
Please join me tonight 7 pm to 9 pm with JoAnna at the Amway Center, Victoria House, 37 Southampton Row, London WC1B 4DA.  Network to success and all are welcome to attend the Amway Business presentation (from 8pm to 9pm.)  Invite your partners/spouses.
Warm Wishes for your success and transition into business.  A team is always available to support and help you on your way.  Do not feel alone and look at all the best opportunities for you to move forward with your life.
Rita.

News articles about today's work environment for nurses.

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/news/article-2474773/Patients-risk-1-4-hospitals-Inspectors-raise-alarm-long-A-E-waits-high-death-rates-staff-shortages.html?ico=home^headlines
This article alerts the public and politicians 'How 1 in 4 hospital trusts fails to offer patients safe care.'  I recommend that you read and identify where they are and what it means to your as a nurse if you are working in a hospital that is not able to meet the necessary standards of care to allow you to practice safely with your license.
The Nursing Times http://www.nursingtimes.net/nursing-practice/clinical-zones/older-people/unnecessary-ward-moves-harm-elderly-patients-warn-academics/5061707.article# has published articles that exposes unsafe practices such as moving elderly patients from ward to ward.
The Royal College of Nursing found the following cutback information which includes nursing jobs to be axed over the next three years http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/394316/25-000-NHS-jobs-go-in-three-years 4,800 nursing jobs have been lost since 2010.
Indeed.com has a forum for nurses who are unable to find work anywhere and express their disappointment with the job market in the US.
Just for Nurses is an online forum for UK nurses to share information about their work experiences.  There are polls to participate in and groups that are interacting world wide.  I encourage everyone to link with this kind of website which is not associated with any formal association.  This is the grassroots nursing change that I believe will shape how nurses feed into the system and workforce.
Toni Pearce who heads the National Union of Students in the UK may be able to help nursing students find avenues to transition and find a job in a safe work environment.  I think from my own experience that when others are involved that things start to improve and she seem feisty enough to take the bull by the horns so to speak and take action where needed.
Meditation is the foundation of all my work and my own life course and I recommend that you start your own spiritual journey.  Sometimes when we have come to a point where we keep hitting a brick wall either emotionally over some realm in our life such as relationship issues; or we have a more concrete challenge such as an economic blow because of a professional licensing issue; or a health issue that has arisen from the accumulative result of chronic stress which many nurses experience, it's time to go deeper than thinking and analyzing with our minds.  That is like a never ending labyrinth that causes us to get caught up in thoughts that are not uplifting or even true when examined.  We make assumptions based upon our emotions a lot of time and when we examine the validity of such assumptions they may not be true.  This is why self reflection and self examination are important to understand yourself and only you can be true to yourself and help yourself overcome these inner obstacles that we all face.  Start where you are.
Shabd-Meditation is meditation on inner light and sound.  There are many doctors who have written about the experiences of entering a pure white light and feeling a loving presence when they have had a near death experience.  There are many benefits from meditating such as decreasing stress and BP; aiding with sleep etc.
Sir Paul McCartney has been an advocate for the most vulnerable - animals.  We name our animals that we cozy up to and take for walks with our families but when it comes to eating them they suddenly get called 'live-stock' and 'beef' instead of cows, mutton instead of sheep etc.  Remember what you are participating in and consider what it means to your health and moral well-being.  I respect the dedication and love that Linda and Paul McCartney have share for animals and we can all awaken to that love and dedication is we choose to.
http://www.veggiefestchicago.com/view.php/mod/content/identified/6/Take%20the%20vegetagian%20Challenge#.UmqII3A3uPY  Take the Vegetarian Challenge and join with others who are supported in the transition to a healthier lifestyle.
My very best wishes are with you as you find a new business career in a small business start-up 'kitchen table style.'  You can do it!
Remember I'll be available to meet with you in High Wycombe this week-end in the lobby of The Bell between 4pm and 6pm.  I will be also available on Monday evening at The Amway Center in London from 7 pm to 9pm.
Rita.

Diwali marks the beginning of the business year.

Diwali Festival
Background Date: Sunday November 3rd 2013
This festival is celebrated by lighting candles and saying prayers for prosperity.  It marks the beginning of the business year.  It will be awesome for everyone to say a prayer for prosperity to reach each one of the nurses who are transitioning into business.  Powerful!
I have to admit that I am not quite as computer savvy as most of you are and those 'Google woogle Google guys from Company G' are the best at helping me out.  I hope you enjoy the song that fits the theme of my gratitude to Google.
Google has invented a system called uProxy to guard people in countries that will punish them for communicating with the outside world online.  Google operates under the informal motto 'Don't be evil.'  That is really what is needed in the world today.  People are thrown under the bus it seems to me in so many places and people don't seem to notice or perhaps care what's going on in front of them.  The Times today goes on to say 'Google remains keen to offer help to vulnerable groups - such as human rights advocates, and election monitors - in ways that might anger authoritarian regimes.  Its new tools include Project Shield, a system designed to protect websites from denial-of-service attacks, which typically try to render a site unusable by crashing it or by bombarding it with requests.'  Making positive changes in the world.  I like that very much.
When you are running a small business it is important to be accessible on line and keep your information current for your clients.  If you are able to afford a smart phone I recommend that you use this and find as much information about apps as you can.  The Chelsea Apps Factory besides offering an array of apps that will help you to run your new business start-up it also gives an example of someone who saw a gap in the market place and has made fifty million plus!  I will do some research on some other apps and share it with you though this is not my strong point I hope it will add to your repertoire of business skills.  I'm thinking that there are many of you who are half my age and twice as smart and if you can develop apps that can be used by businesses and the medical field you can make a fortune too and that's what I wish for each and every one of you.
Who ever has gone before you can teach you how.  Dame Marjorie Scardino was listed 17th on the Forbes list of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the world says 'take risks and not to fear failure.'  She shares her five golden rules to abide by: keep it simple, be yourself, don't take yourself too seriously, be generous, and thing big.'  Gratitude and generosity go hand in hand.  Jesus said 'It is better to give than receive' because that is one of the main principles of the law of attraction.
Let there be light!  Lighting candles is part of celebrating Diwali which means 'Festival of Lights.'  It is traditional to clean your home before the celebration begins to welcome abundance into your life.  Perhaps you can Google and see what more you can learn about this special festival and increase your prosperity consciousness.
I will be at the Amway Center in London on Monday 28th October and each Monday evening following between 7pm and 9pm.  Bring your business cards and you are warmly invited to attend a presentation about the Amway business model and products.  I recently had to go into a well known chemist to buy make up for a photo shoot and was tailed by a security guard like a 'duck on a June bug!'  I said something to an employee there and she responded that the security guard had been told to watch people like me - I happen to be older and have grey hair and use a shopping basket on wheels to carry my laptop etc.  They gave me a good selling point for buying products on line!  Amway, London  The reason I like Amway so much is because it is still a family owned business and the ingredients for all of their products come from their own organic farms.  THEY DO NOT TEST PRODUCTS ON ANIMALS.  This is very important to incorporate into your life.  Being mindful about the lives of animals.  St. Francis of Assisi loved all of God's creation.  It all ties into the law of attraction for what you sew comes back to you.  Please be kind and gentle to all creatures.
I will be in High Wycombe this weekend 26th and 27th October and we can network between 2 pm and 4pm at The Bell to network.  Bring your business cards.  This link will show you directions.
As always you are in my thoughts and prayers as you contemplate about a career in business and get ready with your lap tops, smart phones and build up your customer base.  You can do it!
Warm Wishes, Rita
