Keep your focus on the goal and stay in community 'Nurses Transition Network'

Opra always inspires me and provides the greatest roll models who can show us the way to get through those challenges when all seems to be going wrong or you feel vulnerable to circumstances beyond your control.
Inspiring-Songs  You may feel isolated and alone, but you are not alone and can link with others who face the same challenges as you by going to MeetUp and start a group in your area using the name 'Nurses Transition Network.'  Be part of a community of thinkers and achievers who are going to move forward with their lives and network together.  Use WordPress and get a free website to start your business.  VistaPrint offer free business cards.  You will need to purchase a laptop if you need to access wifi in public places such as the library or coffee shop.  Do what you need to - but just do it!  Gloria Steinem has some funny and some more serious quotes that might help you feel like you are connected with others who have dealt with some challenging issues in life too.  I like the first one 'The truth will set you free but first it will piss you off.'
I recommend learning about money from Suze Orman who says 'To live a life of material and spiritual abundance everything about you must be in harmony.'  The inner spiritual work is vital and it takes courage to face who you are and what you know is inside that needs to be weeded out and only you can do the work.
Lenders in the UK predict a three-year high in credit levels for small firms.  It is advisable from my own personal experience to bank with a small bank like The Co-operative Bank because they are willing to look at you with fresh eyes and not through the usual banking message of poor risk perhaps if you are limited with income at the moment.  Getting a business loan can help you get a start and smaller community banks like these and credit unions often have group benefits for other services such as purchasing electronic items like computers and perhaps phones.  I will check out any group rates for this group as you join make sure you mention my name and the group name so that we can build up a community that this and other small lending banks will look at for loans and discounts on items needed for business.  I realize that the Directors of The Co-operative bank have resigned and there are changes going on at the moment but I think it will still be the best option for people who need financial support from their bank.  I also want to state that I am very encouraged by President Obama's pick for the Federal Reserve Chairperson, Janet Yellin.  Her teacher and mentor was James Tobin who died in 2002 and whom she quoted as saying 'He encouraged his students to work that would not only meet a high intellectual standard, but would improve the well-being of mankind.'  I have read in the past that the Dali Lama said that the world will improve when more women get into positions of power and I believe that.
I recommend a vegetarian diet because it's ethical to not harm animals and meat is not good for your health.  I am in awe of Sir. Paul McCartney who has stood by these friends of mankind and speaks openly about their plight.  ...if slaughter houses had glass walls... think about how you respond to this video and what you can do differently at this point in your personal and spiritual development to change.  It takes a conscious effort to change and not just go along with what others do.  Step out and be a promoter of good for animals.
There has been a lot written about the increase in number of Type 2 Diabetes and that is a natural area for any nurse to excel in by providing diet and education in the community where people live by connecting via Cookisto an innovative on line community that connects local cooks with people who want food delivered to their homes or offices that gives an option to regular takeaways for five pounds per serving.  You can provide vegetarian meals for diabetics or people with GI disorders that require a special diet.  Since opening they have 300 chefs and 5,000 clients ordering foods on line.  Sounds like a winner to me I only wish I could cook!
My very best wishes are with you all as you transition to a business career and start earning money.  Money is important and you can do it!  Please let me know if I can help you by contacting me at lawrencerita511@gmail.com
Remember to meditate and journal.  It works and check out the Dhali Lama's website for sources of information and inspiration.  Also Science of Spirituality to check out meditation classes and vegetarian cooking classes and recipies.  Having Google is a gift because we can all come together and go on this spiritual journey that is what we are here in this life for.  I really appreciate Google and having this site to reach out to those who are reading from the US to China!  I know that our community can make a difference in the lives of many and hopefully politicians will pay attention to the financial and emotional cost of exclusions.

You can keep making a difference in the world.

Today I read a post by Tony Robbins who is a renowned coach which said that it's important to let the world know you are alive and active in it!  Think about what that means to you as you face a challenge with the Board of Nursing.  You can keep your focus on the issue and how to navigate through the legal system and how to maintain a living otherwise you will be like a possum and wait until it's over and the result may not be what you want.

That is why I teach nurses to become proactive with the process.  The place to start is way before any investigation is launched by doing things to keep yourself protected legally and financially.  This means getting a prepaid insurance plan so that you will have resources to get an Attorney who is specialized in license law to defend your license.  Do the research ahead of time and it may come in handy for a friend when they are frantically looking for an Attorney.  Keep a business card with you at all times and if you are approached directly by an investigator from the BON you will simply present the card and tell the person that they can contact your Attorney and he/she will set up an appointment.  Then call your Attorney and keep your cell phone with you as you will need to keep in close touch with your Attorney about any appointments and documentation that your will be required to present.
Meet with your insurance representative and find out about a short term insurance plan that would provide income for a period of a year or more so that you can have the extra financial security of knowing that you can continue to provide for your family.  Keep all these documents in a file and be sure that your payments are kept up to date.  Some short term insurance companies will role over into a Life Insurance Policy at the date it matures.  Check on these things so that you are always keeping the money you have put into the policy.
Business is a good thing and there is nothing to loose by becoming an entrepreneur and in your spare time you can do what you most like to do and earn extra income.  The extra income may be a source of income for you in the event that you are unable to work under your license.  Although some nurses work in areas such as coaching and writing and use their nursing credentials I recommend not to do this because what you make yourself vulnerable to having an issue attached to your license that can expand into your business.  Keep license and business separate entities and make sure that in your bio you do not make reference to your nursing background so that people do not assume that you are providing a nursing service.
Be aware that there are laws involving a business license and it's best to consult with an attorney to set up your business with the state and register it properly.  There are several sites like www.wix.com where you can develop your own website and blog.  There are no costs unless you wish to upgrade.  Start social networking with Twitter.com, Facebook.com and LinkedIn.com and develop a following as a marketing strategy.
Be clear about what your vision is and write this down.  In your mission statement write what it is that you wish to do/influence through your work.  Let your friends know what you are doing and begin to network in all situations.  Join local and national networking groups and attend meetings and seminars to get referrals and to gain knowledge about starting and building a business from experts who present.
It might sound like a lot to do but if you have a plan A and a plan B as they say you are prepared to meet the unexpected.  Your confidence will build as you learn about building a business.  Many of the network marketing companies have all the coaching and leaflets to sell products available to your at a minimum fee.  Keep accurate records of all your expenses and use the information when you file your tax returns.  If you have a tax accountant you might find out about how often to file and what items are tax deductible that you will need to provide your business service.  This may include office equipment and technology such as computers and iPhone.  Make sure that you keep receipts and warranties.
Enjoy your life and the freedom you have to create more abundance as you add this extra layer of security.  Attitude is everything and when you start receiving checks into your account from customers you will feel motivated to do more to increase your earnings.  Check with your credit union about accounts and interest for a personal as well as business account.  They generally have good rates and have the reputation of being ethical in the current "banksters" environment.
The convenience of using an iPhone is that you can keep up to date with your business and respond to clients immediately.  Set up meetings and network generally.  Once you start to learn the technology you can expand by using different gadgets such as hashtags.  Mine for "nurses undergoing state board discipline" is #NUSBD so that people can search for information and links on twitter.  I also noted that there are twitter forums where everyone who is interested in a topic for nursing undergoing state board discipline can join.
Oprah was quoted that Spirituality is the basis for all our work and success.  I believe this to be true and it is important that you find the right path for you.  For myself I meditate, follow a vegetarian diet, abstain from alcohol and any other chemicals.  Live a good ethical life and find those who are on the path to share and support the way of life that is one that leads to liberation.  Maslow used the term self actualization which is the same thing.  Our life is short and the time we need to devote to our practices and relationship with God is the first and utmost important priority.  Don't let this opportunity to go deeper and learn to tap into the love and peace inside that is not only comforting and uplifting but when all other areas of life can fall apart we can stay steady within.  That is somewhere inside where no one else but God can enter and you can be in a state of bliss and joy or attach to outer circumstances and feel the pain.  It's about attitude and thinking and that creates a level of feeling that is either positive or negative.
Willie Nelson is always calm and positive and I read a quote by him that said "If you learn to think positive thoughts you will get positive results in your life."  It is as simple as that.  Keep a daily record and jot down your thoughts and learn to transcend even the most difficult and trying times by remaining positive in your outlook.  Oprah says that the future looks so bright that she has to wear sun glasses.  Be that way yourself.
Contact your State Representative and report any issues and how your are being related to and ask that he/she contact Rep. Tony Shipley (R-TN) and duplicate the two laws he wrote for nurses in each state.  All will change for the better as more politicians take note and become involved.  Like other things unless they hear from us they do not know there is an issue that needs to be addressed such as Rep. Tony Shipley found out when he had to correct the State Board of Nursing for "blatantly breaking state laws."  They are not above the law and Representatives know the law.
Please feel free to comment or contact me.  Keep in prayer and know that you can get through any difficulty with God's Grace.

Veterans Day!

So many deep emotions of gratitude and love for country and those who serve our country and protect our freedom.  For those who can provide resources with time and money please consider supporting homeless veterans who are served by soup kitchens and shelters in your town or city.  They are dignified warriors who have not coped well with life since returning from the battle front.  Another worthy cause is Honor Flight.  Search on the web and find one near you!  Their mission is to fly veterans to DC to visit the war memorials.  As there are 1,200 WWII Veterans dying every day and time is obviously of the utmost importance.  It is a worthy cause and I encourage you to open your heart to the men and women who served our country.

A cold November day in Kansas City and looks like winter is setting in for sure.  Don't think I mind though because each season brings a special gift of finding joy in the self.  A time for staying home and reading and writing which I love to do.  A time to spend more time on the computer to get the message out to others about worthy causes that you can support.  Now it's your turn and I want you to think of all the things that you want to do this winter while the air is still and quiet outside with snow blanketing the landscape.  Remember those times sitting in front of the fireplace with family and friends?  We used to have a "cuppa tea" and everything was suddenly roses!  My feet would be cold from playing skating on Dyke's creek.  Didn't have skates but my uncle brought me a pair of ankle high boots and a woolen coat one Christmas at the Army and Navy store in London.  My mother would take my sister and I up to London by train for the January sale and buy us clothes that my uncle paid for as our Christmas present.  Even if you don't have anything new to do (or don't think you do!) take a trip down memory lane.  Have a tape recorder next to the chair that you sit in an record stories from the past so that the next generation will know what life was like for you way back when!

New Year is just around the corner and I want you to prepare in a mindful way about what you want to change or improve upon in 2011.  Start the process of goal setting for the next year and use meditation and introspection as your tools to draw you in to your soul and learn about your true purpose in life.  Let God lead you and show you the way.  Be open to forming a personal connection to your Higher Power.  Think of that person as your constant guide and companion.  Always in heart and mind and longing to continue to merge with the one who leads you to God.  Your own heart will be your altar on which you can stand in your shining radiance, without fear of judgment or criticism.   Your heart will be made light and pure and you will want to spend more and more time alone in your heart with God.  I had the experience of seeing the light inside the soft caves of my own heart.  Radiant bright white light, with soft molded walls and a small green Chinese figure holding out his arms.  Smiling and radiating love and joy in giving and fulfilling my needs.  Cherish your heart.  Protect your experiences.  I share so that you will know what the journey is like and about ultimately.  Your union with God.

So on this Veterans Day we all share in our gratitude for those who were willing to die and for those who did die defending our liberty and freedom.  Life is precious and a delicate thing that any one of us can have taken before we feel prepared.  Know that you have time and opportunity to know God, become a loving and serving person for humanity, nature and all of God's creatures.  Be mindful of your diet.

I am a Professional Life Coach and require people whom I work with to meditate daily and follow a vegetarian diet.  That is a discipline and without it you are not going to achieve the ultimate goal of liberation.  Please contact me at lawrencerita511@gmail.com
